How Rockefeller Shaped Modern Medicine and What It Means for Your Health
Discover the Controversial Origins of Western Medicine and How It's Impacting Your Choices Today
6 mins read
Welcome back to Panacea, the newsletter that helps you reprogram your brain to better health (we also provide a discount to the coding course).
Today I will talk about 2 things I am extremely passionate about:
The first one is medicine.
The second one is AI.
How do they merge together?

I’m glad you asked:
they both make your life better by solving challenging problems
Yesterday I was listening to this EPISODE Tom Bilyeu’s Impact Theory and the two guests (Peter Diamandis & Salim Ismail) said this:
“If you're not using these (AIs) you are not going to survive the rest of this decade. There are two kinds of companies by the end of this decade, those that are fully utilising Ai and these exponential Technologies and those that are out of business.”
I’m using MidJourney → (text to image) for this newsletter and given my passion to cinema and film making I’m starting to use Runway → (text to video). In the near future movies will be made with AI and this app is already great at creating video content from text).
And of course Chat Gpt which is the parsley of AI at the moment.
So, we will be doing business as usual, BUT at the end of each mail I will add a section about the things I tried on that week about AI and how you can implement them to your life and business.
So you can thrive through this decade and come out prepared.
Let’s talk about MEDICINE
As you know, it all started with Hippocrates.
This legend, also referred as the "Father of Medicine", was born on the Greek island of Kos around 460 BCE at a time when illness was considered a divine punishment. Ouch.
Imagine you get sick and the shaman tells you ‘sucks to be you, you enraged the gods’ and that’s it.

Hippocrates in all his splendour
That’s why to this day there is still the Hippocratic Oath, with its core principle of "do no harm": if you zoom out though, you will notice that in the last decades the pharmaceutical industry has been focusing on profits over minimising harm.
Hippocrates comes in and starts focusing on science and observation and shifts this belief. People starts getting better.
He focused on preventative care, emphasizing diet, exercise, and lifestyle as crucial for health and what he believed was that health is a balance of the four "humors" (blood, black bile, yellow bile, and phlegm) in the human body were influential, albeit incorrect by today's scientific standards.
Fast forward to today and health is split between maximising profits, pleasing shareholders and demonising eastern medicine.
THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING
More than 15 years ago I heard about a BOOK, published by a german author, that stack to my mind because it was shown with many redactions (blacked-out text) to illustrate the controversial nature of th
e content and the challenges the author faced in naming specific companies or products due to legal concerns.

According to the book (and Dr Aseem Malhotra) prescription drugs are the third (3rd) leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.
Just a quick example (scraping the surface here):
Purdue Pharma: In 2020, Purdue Pharma, the maker of OxyContin, pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges and reached an $8.3 billion settlement related to the opioid crisis.
Johnson & Johnson: In 2019, Johnson & Johnson was ordered to pay $572 million for its role in the opioid crisis in Oklahoma, although the amount was later reduced.
Merck & Co: The company agreed to pay $4.85 billion in 2007 to settle thousands of lawsuits over its painkiller Vioxx, which was withdrawn from the market in 2004 after studies found it increased the risk of heart attacks.
GlaxoSmithKline: In 2012, GlaxoSmithKline agreed to plead guilty to federal charges and pay $3 billion in the largest healthcare fraud settlement in U.S. history, which included marketing drugs for unapproved uses and failing to report drug safety information.
Bayer: Bayer, which acquired Monsanto, faced thousands of lawsuits over the herbicide Roundup and its alleged link to cancer. In 2020, Bayer announced it would pay more than $10 billion to settle existing and future claims.
Which brings me to the last century attempt
to demonise and discredit eastern medicine
NOTE: while writing this I highly respect medicine and I’m extremely fascinated in learning more and more about the human body and how to hack it to health.
I do believe though that Western medicine focuses in maintaining patients as customers rather than healing them → Choose holistic doctors that studied beyond their training.
I highly recommend Dr Charlie Fagenholz
HOW DID IT ALL START?
In today’s story, our Hero is called John D. Rockefeller:

Let’s start this hero’s journey
John D. Rockefeller started as an oil tycoon, but one day he did the math and figured that he had to tap into the education sector to make a real ‘difference’.

To this day is considered like the godfather of modern medicine.
Let’s look into how it all played out
What's the Flexner Report?
Back in 1910, a man named Flexner released a report that reshaped medical schools, and Rockefeller was the puppet master behind it. Think of it as the original blueprint that still influences how doctors are minted today.
Discrediting Alternative Medicine - How the little guys were screwed
The rise of what we now consider mainstream Western medicine came at the expense of other forms of medicine, including traditional and Eastern practices. With the heavy influence of the Rockefeller and Carnegie foundations, these forms of medicine were often portrayed as unscientific or even quackery.
The Profit Game
Here's where it gets juicy. Critics argue that Rockefeller essentially turned medicine into a cash cow, prioritizing treatments that keep the money rolling in instead of actually curing people: the medical paradigm that we see today often prioritizes pharmaceuticals and surgical interventions.
The Ultimate Networker
The guy didn't just influence medical schools; he built connections with pharmaceutical companies too. This isn't just networking; it's empire-building at its finest.
Still Feeling the Vibes
And the kicker? We're still living in the world they shaped. Modern medicine, for better or worse, is like a TV series that's still airing, based on their original script.
If you want to dive deeper into this, I highly recommend a BOOK that was harder to find that the first edition of the Bible: it’s out of print but you can find it on Amazon.

Meanwhile you can find the Kardashian books in every store. Those trees had souls!
What can I do with all these information?
My VISION is to influence as many people as possible with the knowledge and resources I provide here and in my videos, so you can tap into the innate power of your body and learn how to build a foundation for thriving health.
There will be a lot of medical information coming
AND natural remedies aka nature’s power.
We are all connected: As many of you transform, others will be influenced too and the standard of health will raise.
Healthier body → more energy | less time sick = more time doing what you love | healthier headspace = better mood | longer lifespan
I want to grow a community and create the resources to learn in the simplest way possible all the skills needed to become sovereign of your body and life.
In the near future I will explore topics related to soil and how to grow plants and herbs to nurture and heal your body. I’m very excited about this.
Now as promised, let’s talk AI
I want to start with something practical that everyone use in their daily life, like toilet paper and wallets.
GAMMA: I recently found this AI. It helps creating presentations from text. You give a brief description and it creates your slides filled with content and pictures. You can then edit the slides and turn them into a pdf and send it to anyone.
REZI: If you hate long tedious tasks like ironing clothing and writing resumes, this is for you. It won’t iron your shirt, but it will help you create a professionally looking and compelling resume. Remember, the attention span is 1.7 seconds and this pandemic extends to CEO’s and business owners too, so why not adapt your resume to the shorter attention span and stand out?
Sum Up
This is how Western Medicine was reshaped:
We journey back in time to meet Hippocrates, the OG in medicine, who shifted healthcare from divine wrath to science. Flash forward, and it's Big Pharma running the show, often prioritizing profits over patients.
We talked about a book that exposes the dark underbelly of the pharmaceutical industry. Companies like Purdue Pharma and Johnson & Johnson have faced billion-dollar settlements for their roles in public health crises.
John D. Rockefeller: A career. We talked about how didn't just strike it rich with oil; he also sculpted modern medicine, pushing out alternative and Eastern practices to create a profit-driven healthcare system.
